Nymi bracelet, a Bionym product, can use your unique heartbeat as “password” to control your devices.
When the Nymi is worn for the first time, it reads the wearer’s heartbeat using an electrocardiogram sensor and configures itself to the user’s cardiac rhythm. The heartbeat of an individual is unique, just like the fingerprint. Hence, if some other person tries to use the Nymi, it locks the person out.
The Nymi continuously authenticates the identity of its user, as it wirelessly interacts with devices, until it is removed. By mere gesture, and with proximity sensor and motion detector, it lets the user interact and control his computer, smartphone, car and many more. For instance, if the user twists his wrist as he approaches his car, it will be unlocked by the Nymi.
In order to ensure the privacy and security of its user, the Nymi functions on a 3-facctor security system: the user’s Nymi bracelet, heartbeat and an Authorised Authentication Device (AAD). The AAD can be a smartphone or device registered with Nymi app.
